Parent Association

Stillwater Chinese School (SCS) Parent Association (PA) aims to enrich the cultural activities of the Stillwater Chinese School and the Stillwater Chinese community, by reaching out to all parents of the SCS students and helping the SCS teachers. SCS PA organizes activities designed to develop the consciousness and heritage of Chinese culture.

SCS PA currently consists of the Chair (Ms. Yan Xu), Vice-Chair (Ms. Yu Qin), and five other members. Ms. Zhixing Wang is our advisor. We welcome more parents to join us in promoting the learning of Chinese culture. We also look forward to your support and help in future events.

New Initiative: Read-Aloud-with-Friends

To help our kids better learn and practice Chinese, the Parent Association of Stillwater Chinese School (SCSPA) is launching "Read Aloud with Friends" Clubs. Kids in the clubs will read Chinese everyday and have their daily attendance logged on Wechat. Our initial test run of two clubs has seen significant improvement in kids' pronunciation and recognition of Chinese characters, as well as reading fluency.

We would like to invite you and your kids to join us in two clubs:

1. Read Aloud with Friends Club-Beginner

For kids who are currently attending Chinese Class II or under, including those little ones who have not attended Chinese school yet.
Parents will help provide the reading materials that best fit the kids’ interests and reading level.
Encourage your kids to point to the characters as they read along.
Log your kids' reading on the Wechat app or send recorded video/audio in the Wechat group ‘中文阅读打卡俱乐部-初级班’.

2. Read Aloud with Friends Club-Intermediate and Advanced

For kids in Chinese Class Beginner III or above.
Reading materials will be assigned each day.
Encourage your kids to point to the characters as they read along.
Log your kids' reading on the Wechat app or send recorded video/audio in the Wechat group ‘中文阅读打卡俱乐部-中高级班’..
